Day of All Heras

Today is the Day of All Helati.

This day is so named for what we call 'Heras' (singular: Hera; this day is also called the Day of All Heras) that would be recognizable to others as Bodhisattvas of other traditions. These are the souls of those who have gone before us. For those who believe in reincarnation, a Hera is one who has reached the point where they do not need to be reincarnated, but may choose to do so to aid those of us still on Earth. They can be seen as the spirits of place, such as those associated with a temple or nature spots; or function as a sort of guardian angel in helping and guiding us in our journey to become Heras ourselves.

9 Rosea, today, is used to determine when Rosa Mundi is held by looking to the first full or new moon that occurs after the Day of All Heras. This year, 9 Rosea is on a new moon, so we look for the full moon, which will fall on 23 Rosea (5 July in the secular calendar).

This is not a High Festival, but a day of recognition and remembrance of those of the faith who have gone before us.
