Rosea 3340
Today is the first day of the month Rosea, the first month of summer in the Filianic calendar!
This season is all about the sacred symbology of fire and roses, and is very focused on the Mother aspect of God. The festivals and observances we have in this season are (at least to me!) very weighty festivals, concerned mostly with the theme of life after death, reunion with the Mother, and the close examination of the choices we make. In fact, the second cycle of the year, the Mother Cycle, begins toward the end of summer with Chelanya*.
We come out of the joyous, blooming, rising season of Spring, with the triumph of the Daughter, into the warm, radiant Summer. The joy and expansion of Spring settles somewhat into that more stable, grounded center that is the Mother. This is the season for contemplation and connection with the Mother Herself.
* -- (The Daughter Cycle is the Eastre Cycle, beginning with the Daughter's decision to descend even unto the realms of death, and ending with the Resurrection. The Mother cycle, on the other hand, begins in August with the Festival of Regeneration, Chelanya, and ends with the Feast of the Dead, Tamala, in October.
