Maia 3341
It is now the second month of Spring. We have lots of birds and bunnies running through the yard these days. The sun is hot, but the breeze is cool and the evenings are beautiful: I have missed spring, though I didn't realize it until now!
The first day of Maia is, in some calendars, marked as a 'May Day' with the maypole and its attendant festivities in honour of Sai Maia. The ECE writes:
"Sai Maia may be called the soul of Spring. She is the spinner, the first person of the Sai Werdë trinity, the life-giver of the vale of illusion. In her negative aspect, she spins the illusions which snare the soul. In her positive aspect, she is the provider of all earthy benefits and all earthly beauty. She is the bringer-to-life of all manifest creation."
(The Sai Werdë trinity are like the three fates we see depicted in Greek myth.)
Other festivals this month are Rosary Day in two days, and the Exaltation of the Queen of Heaven on 14 Maia/1 May.
