Princess Day
The day after the 12 Days of Nativity is celebrated by some as the showing-forth of the Daughter to maid. With Epiphany, we have reached the last festival of the Nativity period.
As the Chapel puts it:
"Those who have attended Filianic Nativity Service will know that while this Service celebrates the Birth of the Daughter, at no point in the reading do we "see" Her. The birth takes place in the Cave of the World. The Janya (Angel) specifically says: "Approach no further, for if you cannot look upon me, how shall you look upon my Lady, whose handmaiden I am?" The daughters of earth see the star and its wonderful luminance; they see all the Shining Janyati of Heaven, but they do not see the Daughter."
Princess Day (or Epiphany) then is the first time maid sees the Daughter. In some Christian traditions, this day is a ‘little Christmas’ or second Christmas, a time of just as great joy as the day of the Birth, for this is a spiritually significant moment. The Mother has not only come to us as Her Daughter, She is now present, with us, among us; the gentle light we may look upon has come to us and reaches out to us. It is only rivalled by the greater joy we feel at Eastre when the very gates of hell are shattered.
Happy Epiphany!
