Brighe
The last month of the winter season, Brighe is named for the Celtic Goddess Brigid, known by many variant spellings. In early Madrian calendars, this month was spelled 'Brighde', and was associated with bridges, tunnels, and other such passageways, though the association is not clear, as the Celtic Goddess' associations focus more on fire and creativity.
There is only one holiday this month: Luciad, the blessing of the candles. This festival marks the Promise of our Lady to bring Her light to all places of the world: Her taking on of Her fate. This is commemorated through the blessing of candles -- the entire upcoming year's candles in the old Madrian communities.
Brighe ends with Moura Eve, a day of feasting before the most solemn period of our year.
