Transcript of the Nativity Rosary Meditations
Currently, the Rosary meditations for Nativity on the Mother God website are unfortunately only available by listening to the MP3 linked on the page. This is a transcript of that MP3.
The original simple rose is a five-petalled flower. And the five decades, the five mysteries, correspond to the five petals of the rose. And what they also correspond to, obviously, is the five seasons and the five elements. So, what I would suggest for Nativity is a five-fold meditation based on the elements. Now I’m going to read you a little of what we had before and some of the rest of the Nativity story just to help you understand what I’m talking about.
And She stood in contemplation upon the waters of the first darkness; like a great dove upon the waters, She brooded. And She became absorbed with Her and communed with Her own self; and Her light ceased to shine forth from Her, and yet Her light grew greater. And She fell to Her knees, and the surface of the waters became turbulent, and the great waves curled over Her, and their white foam could not be seen in all that darkness. When the waters became calm again, the Mistress of All Things rose to Her feet: for She had conceived a daughter that was not separate from Her, but one with Her, and the child of Her light.
Now that is the first meditation, the first mystery of Water. The waves, the brooding upon the water, the conception. So, our first element is this: Water.
And She walked across the seas and deep into the forests of the earth. And She came upon the deep cave that was at its centre. And She entered the cave, and a star rose above the sacred grove that lay about the cave, brighter and more resplendent than all the stars of heaven.
That is our second element: Earth. She walks from the water to the earth. And this recapitulates the creation, doesn’t it? Because the creation begins with the waters and then the waters are separated to create the firm earth on which the creation is made. We won’t go into the metaphysics of it at the moment, but you see this recapitulates the creation. So, the first Nativity element is water, that’s our first decade. The conception on the waters. The second decade is earth. The entry into the forests of the earth by our Mother, the entry into the cave at the centre of the sacred grove.
Now skip on a little bit because I’m not going to read the whole story here.
Before the cave stood a Janya of Dea robed in a garment so white that the eyes of earth's children were dazzled, and with a countenance of such great beauty that it was a fearful thing to look upon her. And the daughters of the earth covered their eyes and threw themselves to the ground. And the voice of the Janya was like the rushing of a thousand waters. And she spoke, saying: "Be not afraid, for a new light is dawning over the world. Be not afraid, but approach no further, for if you cannot look upon me, how should you look upon my Lady, whose handmaiden I am?" And her voice grew gentle, like the wind among the icicles, and sweet beyond all telling. And she spoke, saying: "This night shall a child be born that shall be the daughter of light and the princess of all the world. A child is coming that shall carry the light of Dea into every part of creation, even to the most desolate of the places of darkness. Rejoice, poor wanderers of the earth and exiles from the house of your Mother, for to you shall come a guide and a deliverer."
Now our third element is Air. The air that carries the voice of the Janya. Air corresponds in some respects to Sai Mati. Um, you may have read about the elemental correspondences of the four earthly Janya. Sai Mati is speech. Communication, voice. And voice is carried on the air. So, the words of the Janya, the promise of the Janya – “This night shall a child be born, that shall be the daughter of light and the princess of all the world. A child is coming that shall carry the light of Dea into every part of creation, even to the most desolate of the places of darkness. Rejoice, poor wanderers of the earth and exiles from the house of your Mother, for to you shall come a guide and a deliverer." – Now that promise is our element of air, that is our third meditation.
And when the voice of the Janya ceased, a silence fell that was the first true silence since the beginning of the world, and the last that shall be until it end, and the children of earth watched the sky as the first rays of dawn crept across the heaven. And a cry issued out of the cave, saying: "The holy child is born from the most holy Mother; light has come forth from light, perfection from perfection."
Now our fourth element is the sunrise: the dawn. Which is – which is very important in this story of Nativity. For although midnight is the time of the north, the time of the winter solstice, days begin at dawn in the Aristasian calendar, and it is at dawn that the Daughter is born: “Hail to the light of the glorious morning. Hail to the first gentle rays of the dawn.” So, it is to the fiery rays of Sai Raya, the Sun, coming up over the horizon after all that darkness: that is our fourth meditation.
And the fifth element is the Spirit. The aethyr; the Spirit; the quintessence; the element from which all the other elements proceed. And that is of course the birth of the Daughter Herself. “And a cry issued out of the cave, saying: "The holy child is born from the most holy Mother; light has come forth from light, perfection from perfection."
And, so, those are our five decades; our five meditations. [recording skips; possibly: Which is very much] a Nativity rosary, of course.
So, if we have no more questions? I shall turn off the microphone again, and I shall have to go in just a moment in any case, but I hope you will enjoy your tea and your wine and [unintelligible, the wonderful company?] that you all certainly are. And thank you very much for honouring me with your presence tonight.
